Clear Aligners

Clear aligners are how most adults fix their teeth today. No metal. No wires. No explaining anything to anyone.

At Bloom, we offer multiple clear aligner systems — and match you to the right one based on your case, not just what we have on the shelf.

How Clear Aligners Work

Clear aligners are custom-made plastic trays that fit precisely over your teeth. Each tray applies gentle pressure, nudging your teeth a small amount. You wear each set for 1–2 weeks, then move to the next. Over the course of treatment, your teeth shift progressively into their final position.

You remove them to eat, drink (anything except water), and brush. Otherwise, they stay in — 20 to 22 hours a day.

What We Offer

We use the most established clear aligner systems with the largest clinical databases. Custom-fit to your teeth, refined with digital planning, and suitable for mild to moderate cases. Some complex cases can be treated with the addition of attachments.

We evaluate each patient for the appropriate system when clinically indicated — matching the technology to the case, not the other way around.

What Clear Aligners Can Fix

  • Mild to moderate crowding
  • Spacing and gaps
  • Overbite and underbite (mild to moderate)
  • Crossbite
  • Open bite (select cases)

Severe or complex cases may be better served by lingual braces or clear braces. We'll tell you honestly at consultation which option gives you the best result.

What to Expect

Consultation. We scan your teeth with an iTero digital scanner — no messy impressions — and show you a preview of your finished smile.

Custom aligners. Your full series is made to specification. You receive them in sets.

Wear. 20–22 hours per day. Remove to eat and brush.

Check-ins. Every 6–8 weeks to monitor progress.

Refinements. Additional aligner sets to fine-tune the final result. Included in your plan.

Retainers. Required after treatment. We provide them.

Timeline. Most adult cases: 6–18 months. Complex cases up to 24 months.

Compliance Is Everything

Clear aligners work when you wear them. Simple but important.

Not wearing them enough — skipping hours, leaving them out during meetings, forgetting overnight — slows treatment and can require additional aligners.

If consistent wear is a genuine concern for your lifestyle, lingual braces are worth knowing about. They're fixed, they work 24/7, and there's nothing to track. See the comparison.

Why Bloom for Clear Aligners

Every clear aligner case at Bloom is led by a board-certified orthodontist — not a general dentist doing aligners on the side. That distinction matters for complex cases, for attaching accuracy, and for how your result looks when you're done.

We have two locations: Long Beach and Garden Grove.

Cost and Financing

Most adult clear aligner cases range from $3,500–$8,000 depending on complexity. Many dental insurance plans cover clear aligners the same as traditional braces. We verify your benefits before treatment starts.

Flexible monthly financing is available.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between different clear aligner systems? Various clear aligner systems exist, each with different clinical approaches. We use the system best suited to your specific case and recommend the best fit for your teeth.

Can I eat normally with clear aligners? Yes — remove them to eat anything. No food restrictions.

How many hours per day do I need to wear them? 20–22 hours. This is non-negotiable for treatment to progress on schedule.

Do clear aligners work for complex cases? Mild to moderate cases are the sweet spot. Some complex cases can be handled with additional attachments. We're honest at consultation if another approach would serve you better.

Will I need retainers after treatment? Yes, permanently. Teeth shift throughout life. Retainers protect your investment.

What if I lose an aligner? Contact us immediately. We can order a replacement. This is one reason some patients prefer fixed options like lingual braces.
